| "...As the newly
engaged
couple began planning their wedding they knew they wanted to do the whole thing in their own personal style...so they began by designing their own
invitations together and printing them themselves. They got a lot of great comments from their friends and family..!"
HOW TO CHOOSE WEDDING INVITATIONS STEP 1: The first thing to remember is that your wedding invitation is the first impression people
will have
of your wedding, so it's worth thinking about what style will reflect your personalities and the type of wedding you're planning.
STEP 2: OK, so what style should you go for? For example, if you had to choose between Traditional or Modern, which would you be more
comfortable
with? Formal or Romantic? Whimsical or Serious? One way to decide is to look through the different categories of invitations and see which ones
appeal to you
most. Are you drawn more to a Floral theme with Flowers or Vines - or more toward square, embossed elegance? All choices are fine - whichever you
pick will
look great, it's just a case of trying to reflect who you are as a couple. STEP 3: Next decide which color preference you want. Most
invitations are
either White or Ivory, partly because of the traditional association between the color white and weddings, and partly because white and ivory give
a clean
elegant look that is easy to read. That's not to say that you can't go for colors, blue, green, pink, etc but these generally work better as pastel
shades.
STEP 4: Decide on the numbers. Remember that if you have a guest list of 100 guests you don't need 100 invitations. Many guests will be
invited as
a couple or a family, so you probably won't need as many invitations as you thought. However remember that children over 16 should get their own
invitation
even if you are inviting the family. And don't forget to send invitations to your parents and the wedding party too! STEP 5: Now click on Printable Wedding Invitations above and browse through our selection,
which are
ranked from Formal at the top of the list to Whimsical and Romantic at the bottom. You will see that some of our invitations can be matched with
wedding
programs too. |
